Scooters Chicken is a hot new restaurant concept created by Gretna resident Brandon J. Hildalgo. The first Scooters opened in Marrero, the second location followed inside Oakwood mall. Now the company is getting read to open a third location in the fall on Lapalco Boulevard in Harvey. An agreement has been signed for a fourth location in Gretna across from Academy Sports.
Hidalgo describes the look and feel of Scooters as “a whimsical friendly family place” providing fun things for young children to do. The new location in Harvey “will be equipped with a drive thru, dine-in-room, carryout, and an awesome outside seating package for families to enjoy.”
Franchise agreements have been signed for an additional seven Scooter’s restaurants in cities as far-reaching as Dallas and Mobile, added Hidalgo.
The menu at Scooters features two varieties of fried chicken, original and Xtreme. “Xtreme chicken is the best to hit the food industry in a long time,” said Hidalgo. Also available are Scooters juicy, seasoned, oven-roasted rotisserie chicken, original classic side dishes and homemade honey buttered cheese biscuits.
Hidalgo has more than 20 years of experience in the quick-service restaurant industry and has invented and developed food products for international fast food chains.
